Okta

Okta is at the forefront of developing tools for online safety at both the enterprise and consumer level, at a time when online identity and security are becoming an increasingly important issue.

As the brand team rolled out a beautiful new design system, they found that their visual assets lacked consistency. My team partnered to define & document a color grading system across still and video to match with their brand style. This system informed camera crews in their shoot approach and carried forward to all assets.

Color Style | Still & Video Post Direction | Client Management | Project Management

Throughout the initial relationship, we went from color grading stock jpgs to working with commissioned raw capture, codifying the steps for the disparate workflows as we went along and creating a final color guidelines deliverable to be referred to on all projects moving forward.

The result is a visual library with an own-able style to tell the story of Okta’s customers.

The brand team’s first few commissioned hybrid video/still shoots had talented artists on both cameras. I led my team in developing a technical process that maximized Okta’s production investment by seamlessly integrating video stills with traditional camera stills.

The video stills were large coming out of an 8K camera, but noisier and less crisp than the camera stills. Our techniques created beautiful results and more variety in the edit.
